Maternal care has been ignored for far too long. Enough is enough.

We’re on a mission to eliminate preventable pregnancy complications and make modern, life-saving care accessible to mothers everywhere.

The current system puts mothers and babies at risk

High-risk moms need significantly more clinical surveillance, but a growing shortage of healthcare providers is creating barriers to care for an increasing number of women.
Outdated monitoring and care delivery models overload clinical staff, create unnecessary confusion for patients, and often fail to address avoidable pregnancy complications before it’s too late.

Too many patients are falling
through the cracks

The U.S. has the highest rate of pregnancy-related deaths of any other developed nation. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
For every death, there are tens of thousands of women who suffer long-term health consequences from pregnancy complications.
Women deserve better.
Why we’re here

From crisis to changing
care delivery

Co-founder Eric Dy’s wife had a high-risk pregnancy with placental complications, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and preterm birth – issues that led to their son spending his first month of life in the NICU.
They experienced firsthand how fragmented maternal care is today and how difficult it is for patients to access the information they need to take control of their health.
Determined to change this, Eric teamed up with Julien Penders
to launch Bloomlife in 2014.

Bloomlife's fetal monitor placed on a pregnant woman's belly, capturing real-time fetal data during pregnancy.

Improve access and quality
of care with a maternal care experience fitting the 21st century

Bloomlife’s comprehensive connected care solutions enable healthcare providers to accurately assess maternal-fetal health outside of the office.
With a reliable overview of patient well-being at all times, providers have the information they need to make the best clinical decision and improve birth outcomes.

Defining a new standard of care

Unlocking new understandings of pregnancy with predictive analytics

Leveraging data from our proprietary maternal-fetal monitor, 3rd party devices, and existing clinical data, we are working to build a first-of-its-kind dataset on maternal and fetal health to develop digital biomarkers and the next generation of risk stratification tools.
Our first AI-based digital marker, currently in development, detects labor onset with the same accuracy as a clinical exam to predict preterm labor – and it’s only the beginning.

Uniquely poised to bring long-overdue innovation to the most pivotal time of life

Team
We are a team of scientists, engineers, designers, and data scientists with deep technological expertise in developing the most advanced wearable sensors for electrophysiological monitoring and decades of experience in maternal-fetal medicine. Because transforming maternal care delivery demands nothing less.
